SNES Classic Mini Yeahh!

Awyeahhh it’s finally here, our very own SNES Classic Mini! I basically grew up with this console (and the N64, GameCube, lots of handhelds too O_O) and have allot of good memories with this one ♥

It looks so cute and small and can’t wait to play all the games that are included on it. As retro game collectors (and owned games from our childhood) we already have allot of these games, but not everything so I am excited to try these out. Still it’s definitely a must have for the Nintendo fan, especially since the Super Nintendo is ageless and in my opinion the best retro console out there ♥

I will share a bit more of what I think about these games and my experience with them ♥

A Sonic obsession!

After playing and defeating the game Sonic Mania I was super excited to get back into more of the sonic games. I remembered this pretty awesome game Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast, mostly that the chao garden was so much fun to do.

Unlike Sonic Mania this is a more modern 3D looking game, but still allot of fun and at this moment my favourite 3D sonic game. So I have been playing this game again and it’s just so much fun. Already completed the hero side, almost finished with the dark side and of course raising my chaos making cute little angels and devils ♥

New character design ♥

A warm-up sketch ❤🐘, follow up from my sketch I did a few weeks ago. I’ve changed some features and really happy how she turned out ^___^ I’ve decided on her colours, made her more realistic long trunk and a bit more thick/chubby.

Description stays the same and I will most likely name her Fiyala. Like mentioned before, she’s an african elephant who loves yoga and video games. I will write a more detailed biography about her once I get the chance to make her a reference sheet, but first it’s back to commissions! ♥

Castlefest Summer 2017

Woohoo we are back from our weekend to Castlefest from 4 to 6 August!

We decided to bring a bigger tent this time (check out a video here) and I was sooo happy we did that. The wind was pretty heavy that day, but we managed to set it up. However we were pretty late so we missed half our first day, but that was okay since we were spending the whole weekend anyway!

I was looking forward to this soo much and just had a blast and just super nice to spend some quality time with my boyfriend.

Doodling an elephant ♥

A few weeks ago I was getting back to work again, but it was still a bit too stressful for me. Now I am back to sick again, I feel horrible about it. I guess it’s best to take it easy and try to rest and avoid stress as much as possible. I am having a really hard time with it, but I try to stay positive.

To distract my mind a bit I have been doodling a bit in my sketchbook.

Splatoon 2 Fan Art!

Just a little while and the new game Splatoon 2 will be released on the Nintendo Switch! To celebrate this I made this super cool Splatoon fan art.

So happy with how this one came out ♥ Especially considering I haven’t been able to draw much lately. But I feel a bit more confident now, so hoping to finish some commissions soon too ^_^ Good practise! ♥ 😀 Little steps!

The sketch can be found on my Instagram.

Hoarding fabrics!

So I have been sick for a while and it’s time to get back into it. I am going to start slowly and build my hours from now on. I am a bit sad everything is not going super well for me work and health wise, so I really hope I will feel better soon. For now I just need to take it easy :O

Homemade kahk ♥

My boyfriend is half Algerian and his family celebrates Eid al-Fitr (suikerfeest) every year to mark the end of Ramadam. I don’t fast myself (tried it out in the past tough), but we are invited to celebrate at the end and of course I wanted to make something in return. Usually everyone brings homemade cookies and such, so you can imagine how many baked cookies are gathered into one place!

Awesome colouring books!

Colouring books!?
These are becoming pretty popular lately, with colouring books for grownups to self-published books by artists. As a kid I always enjoyed colouring books and even now I enjoy to do them. Usually it’s my own art I have to color, the part I like the most when making art ♥ But sometimes you just like to colour and skip that whole drawing part.

They say colouring work very therapeutic and relaxing, so of course I couldn’t resist to try this out! I have been sick from work and a bit stressed, so I definitely needed some relax time.

Some blog editing

Just a quick update! I’ve edited some of my blogs so it looks more interesting to scroll through my blog page. So if you get the feeling I use the same image in the banner as the picture in it, I did but it was inside the post before. I always had a paragraph of text and then a link to read more about the post with the pictures in there.

I think it will look more interesting with the pictures (not all of them) before the read more link, so it actually looks a bit more fun to scroll on this page instead of all tekst :3 Anyways at least I hope so :O If you have any suggestion for me to improve my blog, please do tell!

My job after 1 month!

Just a quick blog for this one!

A month has passed since I started my new job as a designer in marketing/merchandising! I am really enjoying it there and the things I make there. I’ve already done so many projects and some designs/ideas are already in production. What I enjoy the most is the variety the job is giving me, all tough sometimes it can be hard to switch between projects. Of course it also gives me a proper stability in my life both mentally as financially 😛 That sounds boring, but yeah like I said before I really need this now! I am happy with where I am now and that I can do my job and feel good about it.

I won’t give up!

I made a deal with myself, that I want to blog every week. I want to keep that promise, but it’s been really hard to make time for these. Especially with my new job, it’s becoming harder and harder to make time for other things. Nevertheless I am really happy with my job, but just a little bit sad that I have to schedule things differently and probably need to lower my goals for a bit.

One thing is for sure, I don’t easily give up on things!
For that reason I am going to cheat a little bit and make a few blog posts and catch up! Hopefully I will get used to my job soon and find a proper balance between my work, commissions and personally life/ goals.

New job!

No update of the month in projects this time!

My adventure continues, where I found this pretty cool job (started March 7) where I can explore new things and gain more security. It is a part time time job, which means I can still continue my own work as a freelance illustrator and seamstress + have a breather. I will have more financial stability, hopefully less stress and will be out of the house more :O.

Of course this will turn my life upside down (but in a good way) and it will also limit my time I can spend on freelance projects, but at this moment this is what I need to take good care for myself, to be happy and to move forward in my life.

I am really happy I have found this opportunity and I can’t wait to see what experience I will get from this ^__^

Comic Con Europe!

The event for Comic Fans! Right!?

Okay to be honest this was my first time attending this event, but this was my impression about it. First of all, Harley Quinn’s everywhere! EVERYWHERE…I like cosplayers and all, heck I even cosplayed myself when I was younger. But really, when I start to see the same cosplay all over the place, it really disappoints me. I guess that’s just me, but hey I am not here to talk about them so lets continue :3

I really enjoyed the con itself, but purely just to lurk around and check some good oll loot! Also it’s just fun to spend this kind of time with my mate (& friends). We are real hoarders when it comes to this. I love to collect all kind of things like figurines, prints, art, games & comic books etc. So this was really a fun place to be if you are looking for those kind of things. But was it worth it?

Comic issues from from x-men (uncanny & what if’s), spidergirl & purgatory! From

Meet the Artist!

So for this week blog, I’ve decided to do a meet the artist thing. I made this drawing very recently featuring me and the things I (dis)like. It’s just something simple to show my followers who I am :3 Of course not everything is on here so I will tell a little bit more about myself here!

Summary of art & sewing 2016

It’s time for a recap!

Every year I make a summary of my work I’ve done during that year. And every time I am so stressed and thought I barely made any progress. But then every time when I do make the summary of that year I am surprised about the amount of work I still did.

I love to do these recaps, I think it’s good for every person, artist or not to evaluate yourself every time. Sometimes you can be blinded by stress or different reasons and you feel you have wasted a complete year. Sure sometime (most of the times) I wished I had done more and feel I kept pushing projects forward. But it also makes me wonder if I don’t ask too much of myself?
