My boyfriend is half Algerian and his family celebrates Eid al-Fitr (suikerfeest) every year to mark the end of Ramadam. I don’t fast myself (tried it out in the past tough), but we are invited to celebrate at the end and of course I wanted to make something in return. Usually everyone brings homemade cookies and such, so you can imagine how many baked cookies are gathered into one place!
This year was my first try at authentic North African cookies and I have to admit, they were pretty good! I was very proud and everyone was happy to see me bringing homemade kahk. It was pretty time consuming to make, but it was very delicious. I used sesame seeds, honey and nuts mostly which are usually used in these kind of cookies. They weren’t too sweet, but just perfect in my opinion ♥
